Website Advertising Laws

Do companies have a legal obligation to honor the prices they advertise on-line?

I am planning a wedding in the USA while living in Australia. The difference in time zones makes it easier to do a lot of the planning on-line. The problem I am running into over and over is, many companies raise their prices considerably (sometimes several times) and fail to update their websites to reflect this. Are there any laws regarding this? To me it seems like false advertisement.

Prices given are called “offers to do business” and do not constitute a contract. Many companies will offer the price, but are under no obligation to. The contract price is the one agreed to when both parties agree.
